Pat went on a 6-day dog sledding trip in Denali Park, Alaska at the base of Mt. McKinley. She went with John, her husband and a mushing guide from Healy. If you are looking for an exciting and different vacation, this it it!

Loading up my sled

The dogs are letting us know that they are ready to go!

This is right before I fell mushing uphill

My team waiting for their dinner

Mushing along one of the wider paths through the willows!

Getting the dogs unharnessed at the end of the day

End of the day: collecting ice to be melted down for drinking water

Dinner outside our tent (I am on the right) at -20 degrees F

Waving for a quick picture

Stopping for lunch (cup o' soup and trail mix)

End of another day: sled emptied out and dogs in their snow beds (you can see them on the right)

Little Smila, settled in for the evening

An end of the day snow storm and hug for PJ (adolescent male who was always causing trouble with some of the other male dogs)
